Qazi Shahid Najmi

Executive Director, Learning & Talent Development Tenneco Inc.

Shahid is responsible for Global Learning and Development for Tenneco. In this role, he envisions, strategizes, and implements tools, technologies, and programs to create a learning ecosystem at Tenneco that is frugal, effective, sustainable, and delivers impact. His areas of responsibility include Leadership Development at all levels, compliance training, and functional development of 18,000 team members. He also supports all culture and business initiatives that need global adoption. Most recently, he deployed an innovative enterprise frontline leadership development program at the peak of the Pandemic and has trained more than 700 leaders globally in 4 languages. Before joining Tenneco, Shahid worked with organizations like SC Johnson, Johnson Controls, Genpact, and GE. He has worked on projects for a variety of teams from aerospace to pharma. Shahid’s repertoire is very diverse. He started marketing, advertising, and PR before spending 15+ years in Learning Development and consulting. He has led large, geographically dispersed teams delivering cutting-edge learning outputs that produced impact while saving millions in cost avoidance. He is a non-traditional learning leader who speaks the business language. He has a Six Sigma Green Belt with several Lean projects. He is also a Certified Usability Analyst and an MBA passionate about developing people and using data, neuroscience, technology, and user experience to solve business challenges.
