The Chief Learning Officer Exchange is a one day virtual event that will take place October 6, 2021 and will bring together Learning & Development Executives from leading global organizations across multiple industries. The theme for this event is Today’s CLO: A Resilient, Future-Focused Value Creation Partner for the Enterprise

The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted how Learning and Talent Development strategies are executed. Now there is a much greater emphasis on dispersed workforces and agile cultures. The pandemic has ignited many changes, but especially in areas of employee engagement and upskilling. Short-term, the pandemic has underscored what’s working and what isn’t in terms of Learning and Talent Development. It also has created the need for permanent changes in the way long-term planning must be approached. At the CLO Exchange we will discuss:

  • How to optimally plan for short-term and long term talent development with limited resources
  • How to future proof the organization and talent pipeline post-pandemic
  • How to build “future-ready” resilient and agile organizations that can thrive despite disruptions.

CLO Exchange - Panel Discussion: Reframing the Value of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives

The case has already been made on how diversity and inclusion in the workplace drives improved business performance. Inclusive leaders and the cultures they create incorporate many capabilities that align well with the same outcomes companies are trying to achieve. Cognitive diversity or differences in learning style and information processing also leads to increased talent acceleration and innovation capability. A McKinsey study in 2018 revealed that employees are 30 percent more likely to believe that their innovative potential is unblocked at an inclusive organization. A 2020 McKinsey study encourages continued business investment in diversity and inclusion even during economic disruption to keep a key competitive advantage in the marketplace. But how can gains in Diversity and Inclusion be reframed to demonstrate ROI? In this session the benefits of prioritizing diversity and inclusion initiatives and communicating their value will be discussed, including:

  • Winning the war for top talent
  • Improving the quality of decision making
  • Increasing customer insights
  • Driving employee motivation and satisfaction
  • Improving corporate image and credibility
