Over the past five years online education has exploded across the Australian higher education sector. Technological advancements and changing student expectations have made the online education model an increasingly viable option for learning.
But with so much change on the horizon, what steps can universities take to ensure their approach to online learning can transform the student learning experience into something which is fulfilling, rewarding and personalised? What’s more, how can universities go about creating the perfect marriage of educator engagement and student ROI when rolling-out new online learning models?
Ahead of the 5th Annual Online and eLearning Summit 2020, we have compiled three case studies which explore the different approaches three Australian universities are taking to improve student engagement and personalise the learning process through innovative online learning strategies.
VR applications, in particular, are expected to grow quickly in higher education. By 2021, 60 per cent of higher education institutions will be using the technology to gain a competitive advantage by differentiating their learning environments, making them more immersive, and increasing student learning and engagement.
Several institutions are already embracing these transformative tools. For TAFE NSW for example VR is proving to be an important tool in creating innovative and engaging learning experiences for all students, regardless of how and when they choose to study. Ahead of the Online & E-Learning summit 2019 we spoke with Joe Millward, Innovation Manager at the TAFE NSW Digital Lab, who explores how VR is creating interactive and consistent experiences for all students.
Ahead of the 4th Annual Online and E-Learning Summit 2019 we explore the careful balance required between online learning models and student/user experience. Through the perspectives of three organisations currently harnessing e-learning; Queensland University of Technology, TAFE NSW and ANZ - where the benefits of online learning are being leveraged in a corporate environment to upskill employees and delight customers, we delve into how innovative digital and blended learning tools are increase engagement and student learning outcomes.
Ahead of the Online and eLearning Summit 2020 we wanted to share exclusive insights from the 2019 event with you.
