Claire O’Malley

Professor Claire O’Malley is Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global) at Durham University, UK, where she is responsible for the university’s international strategy. Prior to taking up her post in January 2018 she was Vice-Provost (Research & Knowledge Exchange) at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Claire has a BA in Psychology & Philosophy, and a PhD in Education from the University of Leeds, UK. Claire’s research interests are in human-computer interaction and technology-enhanced learning. She has published over 150 peer‐reviewed articles in international journals and international conference proceedings in psychology, education and computer science. Claire’s research has focused on the design and evaluation of digital technology to support learning in children in maths, literacy and science, both in formal and informal learning contexts. Her most recent research has included studies of mobile and augmented reality technologies to support informal learning in museums and visitor centres.
