Dan leads Spectrum Health University and Organizational Development. His responsibilities include all leadership and team member learning programs, learning systems, culture shaping, change management, org-design, team effectiveness as well as all related talent performance/development processes for Spectrum Health (a $7 billion, 14 hospital, 31,000 team member regional health system). Prior to his current role, Dan was the president of ThinkWise. He was member of the founding team that developed a suite of innovative, competency-based tools for selection, feedback, and development. The talent management SaaS software and consulting firm was incorporated in 2004. Under his leadership at Spectrum Health and ThinkWise, Dan has developed strategic people-centered programs including competency frameworks, performance management strategies, innovative approaches to enterprise change management, leadership programming, physician leadership programs, selection and assessment frameworks, and multi-year culture shaping initiatives. Dan has extensive executive coaching and facilitating experience and is certified in multiple frameworks including ThinkWise, MBTI®, DiSC®, Hogan, and Senn Delaney. His diverse career started as a CPA with Deloitte and subsequently holding several senior financial roles at Sequent Computer Systems. Shifting from finance to sales opened his career to leadership roles in sales, business development, and partner development/alliances with Sequent, IBM, and DecisionPoint Applications. He received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Oregon.
