Amy Ryan is the Vice President of Learning and Professional Development at Kindred at Home. With more than 25 years of experience in Learning and Development, Amy has worked in a variety of learning roles in several different industries, including property and casualty insurance, telecommunications manufacturing, health insurance and now home health and hospice. She has led and created training and professional development programs for many roles; including claims adjusters, attorneys, telephone linemen, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, social workers and leaders at all levels. Her passion for building strategic learning organizations and high performing teams to deliver value and improve the health and well-being of people served is something that drew her to Kindred At Home. She is now transforming the way that LD is offered during a transformational time in the company’s history and while the industry itself is changing and responding to the pandemic. Prior to Kindred At Home, Amy spent 14 years at Humana, most recently as the Director of Enterprise Leadership Development where she was focused on revamping the Executive Leadership Program and developing leaders at all levels. Prior to her role in Leadership Development, Amy created and matured the Clinical Learning and Development department from a team of 1 to an organization 110 clinical and learning professionals that delivered training, leadership development and continuing education for all clinical departments at Humana. She also worked closely with the team that founded an internal community of practice called the Nursing Collaborative that is now led by Humana’s Chief Nursing Office. Amy has a B.A. from Indiana University in Telecommunications/Business and a Master’s in Education/Instructional Design from Kent State University. She is a certified facilitator of several leadership development and culture programs and is certified performance consultant through the International Society for Performance Improvement.
