Michael Teichberg

Michael Teichberg joined Educate Online as Director of Human Resources in 2012. He was born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico of American and Cuban roots and has lived in the Boston area since attending Tufts University in 2002. With his multicultural background, he brings a unique perspective to the field of human resources management and has a successful and consistent track record of elevating employment brands, creating talent acquisition networks, and improving the overall employment experience for the staff at the organizations he has served.

Michael was previously the Human Resources Manager at The School for Field Studies (SFS) where he ran the entire global HR function and worldwide recruitment for SFS’s environmental study abroad programs in Australia, Bhutan, Costa Rica, Kenya, New Zealand, Panama, Tanzania, Turks & Caicos Islands, and formerly Mexico. Prior to SFS, he was Human Resources Generalist at Metro Credit Union, one of the largest not-for-profit financial institutions in Massachusetts. He was also Human Resources/Recruiter at Bay Cove Human Services, a leading state-chartered human service provider for those with developmental disabilities, mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, and the challenges of aging. He began his career in HR as the Human Resources Assistant at Metro US, the American subsidiary of Metro International, the world’s largest international newspaper, providing HR support and recruiting for their Boston, New York, and Philadelphia offices.

He has been a speaker and consultant on leveraging social media for corporate recruitment and small business development. He has contributed to HumanResourcesIQ.com, volunteers as an Admissions Interviewer for Tufts University, and has provided career coaching and job assistance services through local organizations such as the Career Collaborative, Chelsea Collaborative, MA One Stop Career Centers, and ROCA.

Michael holds a bachelor of arts from Tufts University, as well as a graduate certificate in human resources studies from Cornell University. He is also a Black Belt in Taizan-Ryu Jujitsu and has taught self-defense classes at summer camps and at Northeastern University. In 2011, he led SFS to be named 1 of the 15 'Best Nonprofits to Work For' in the United States by OpportunityKnocks.org.
